RJ Consulting (“RJ Consulting,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a sole proprietorship operating under the RJ Consulting DBA and based in Monterey, California. We operate TheTip.com and may operate private business tools that connect to third-party platforms through their official application programming interfaces (“Connected Services”). This policy explains what information we collect, use, disclose, store, and delete when you visit the website, contact us, or authorize a Connected Service.
Information we collect
Information you provide
If you use the contact form, we collect the information you choose to provide, which may include your name, email address, company name, and message. The form is intended for initial business and consulting inquiries. Please do not submit confidential, proprietary, privileged, financial, health, identity-document, account-password, or other regulated or highly sensitive information through it.
Information from connected professional platforms
If you authorize an RJ Consulting tool to connect to a professional-network or social-media account through the provider’s official authorization process, we access only the information covered by the permissions you approve and needed for the features you request. Depending on the approved features, this may include:
- your connected account identifiers and basic profile information, such as your name, profile image, headline, and public profile URL;
- authorization tokens, granted permissions, and token status, but never your platform password;
- posts, shares, articles, comments, reactions, and related identifiers that you own, create, manage, or are authorized to view;
- limited profile information and social activity of people who interact with the posts or Pages you manage, when the platform makes that information available;
- Page or organization information and your associated administrator role, when applicable; and
- post, profile, Page, engagement, and video analytics made available through the approved platform APIs, such as impressions, reach, reactions, comments, reshares, clicks, saves, follower activity, and viewing metrics.
We retrieve connected profile information only when you authenticate, use a connected feature, or expressly request an update. We do not access platform information by scraping, and we do not request information outside the permissions you approve.
Information collected automatically
The company that hosts this static website may create ordinary server logs when the site is requested. Those logs can include an internet protocol address, browser and device information, requested pages, referring page, and the date and time of access. The contact form also uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes limited browser and interaction signals needed to distinguish people from automated traffic. Turnstile does not receive the information entered into the contact form. We use this information only for security, reliability, and basic operational troubleshooting.
How we use information
Consulting inquiries and client relationships
- To respond to questions, communicate with you, and follow up on consulting inquiries.
- To understand your business needs and evaluate whether RJ Consulting may be able to help.
- To schedule conversations and prepare proposals, estimates, scopes of work, consulting agreements, or related business materials.
- To establish, administer, and support a potential or active client relationship.
- To operate, secure, maintain, and improve the website.
- To maintain appropriate business and legal records, comply with law, and protect rights, safety, and the integrity of our services.
We use contact-form information for legitimate business purposes related to the inquiry or resulting relationship. We do not add a person to unrelated promotional mailing lists without permission. If a consulting engagement begins, information exchanged during that engagement may also be governed by the applicable consulting agreement, confidentiality provisions, or nondisclosure agreement.
Connected account features
We use connected account information only to provide the profile- or Page-management functions you authorize. Those functions may include authenticating your account; displaying authorized content within the tool; creating, publishing, editing, or deleting posts and comments at your direction; managing reactions; displaying engagement and performance analytics; maintaining the security and reliability of the connection; and complying with applicable law and the platform provider’s requirements.
We do not use connected member data for advertising, recruiting, sales prospecting, lead generation, customer-relationship-management enrichment, audience building, credit or eligibility decisions, surveillance, or data brokerage. We do not sell connected account information, create a general social feed from it, combine it with unrelated third-party data to build profiles, or export or transfer member data to third parties.
Authorization, consent, and account controls
Before a connected feature accesses your account, the platform provider presents an authorization screen describing the requested permissions. Access begins only after you take an affirmative action to authorize it. You may decline permissions, disconnect the tool through the provider’s account settings, or withdraw consent through the website’s contact form. Revoking access stops future collection through the connection, although limited cached information may remain briefly as described below.
Service providers and disclosure
Contact-form submissions are processed by Formspree and delivered to RJ Consulting through our business email provider, Microsoft 365. Cloudflare provides the Turnstile security check used to reduce automated form submissions. Vercel hosts the website and may process connection and server-log information as part of delivering and securing it. A Connected Service may also rely on limited hosting, storage, security, or infrastructure providers acting on our behalf. We authorize service providers to process information only as reasonably necessary to provide their services to us and subject to their applicable contractual and privacy obligations.
When you use a connected feature, information is exchanged with the applicable platform provider as necessary to authenticate the connection, fulfill your request, and comply with the provider’s platform requirements. The provider processes information under its own terms and privacy policy.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, prevent fraud or abuse, protect rights or safety, or support a business reorganization. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising.
Cookies, analytics, and tracking
This website is designed without analytics, advertising trackers, or site-owned cookies. A hosting or form-processing provider may use limited technical mechanisms required to secure and deliver its service. Because RJ Consulting does not use this site to track visitors across websites, browser “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control signals do not change the site’s behavior.
Retention
We retain inquiries only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage a potential or active business relationship, meet recordkeeping needs, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Records related to an active consulting relationship may be kept for the relationship and a reasonable period afterward for legitimate business, contractual, tax, insurance, or legal purposes. We may delete information earlier when it is no longer needed.
Connected account information is retained only for the period permitted by the applicable platform and necessary for the requested feature. Unless the platform permits or requires a shorter period, profile information about other members is cached for no more than 24 hours and member social activity is cached for no more than 48 hours. Organization social activity is retained only within the applicable platform limits. Authorization tokens and the authenticated user’s identifiers are retained only while the connection remains active and they are needed to provide the feature.
Upon a valid request to delete or closure of an applicable application account, we delete platform API data associated with that user, including authorization tokens, except where retention is required by law. We also delete stored platform information if the Connected Service stops operating, the information is no longer needed, or the platform provider requires deletion.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information and services involved. The website uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Access to contact submissions and Connected Service data is limited to the business owner and providers that need access to operate the applicable service. Authorization tokens and other credentials are handled as sensitive information and are not intentionally exposed to the public. No website, API connection, email transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please limit submissions to information needed for the inquiry.
Your choices and requests
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information you submitted through this site or a Connected Service, subject to legal and operational exceptions. You may also ask us to disconnect a connected account and delete information obtained through a platform API. Submit your request through the website’s contact form using the email address associated with the information or connected account so we can reasonably verify and fulfill the request. We will use verification information only to process the request.
California visitors
California residents may have rights under applicable state privacy laws. This policy describes the categories of information our services are designed to collect, the purposes for collection, and the categories of service providers involved. RJ Consulting does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To the extent applicable, you may request access, correction, or deletion without receiving discriminatory treatment through the website’s contact form.
Children
Our business-to-business Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through them.
External links
The website may link to third-party sites. Their privacy practices are controlled by those third parties, not RJ Consulting.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our Services, practices, or legal obligations. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date above. When appropriate, we may provide additional notice of a material change through the website, a Connected Service, or direct communication.
